Wheel Alignment San Antonio: 4 Red Flags That Your Car Is Off

Having the proper wheel alignment on your car is crucial. If it’s even the slightest bit off, it can make it difficult to drive, put added wear and tear on your car, and even put your life in danger. That’s why it’s important to be able to recognize when something’s not right with your wheel alignment. San Antonio has some busy roads, and if you don’t get it fixed ASAP, you could find yourself on the wrong end of an accident in no time.

Not sure how to spot wheel alignment issues? Here are a few red flags:

  • Abnormal wear on your tires It’s common to get some wear on your tires, particularly the front ones, but if you start spotting excessive wear in other areas, like the inside or outside edges of the tires, then you’ve got a wheel alignment problem on your hands.
  • Pulling of the steering wheel – If it takes you concerted physical effort to keep your steering wheel point straight, or if you feel the vehicle pulling in one direction or another, then your alignment is definitely off. A good test is to take your hands off the wheel for a split second (somewhere safe, like a cul-de-sac), and if your car starts to drift to one side, it’s a sure-fire sign you’ve got an issue.
  • Off-center steering wheel – Drive your car perfectly straight, and then look down at your steering wheel. Is the top facing directly upwards? Is it centered? If it’s off even a little bit, it points to an alignment issue.
  • Vibrations – Next time you drive your car, take note of how the steering wheel feels. Does it vibrate and shake as you move, or is it calm and static? If you’re feeling lots of vibrating, it’s a definite red flag that an alignment issue is at work.
